April Missive

Greetings,

Did you know there are awards from the Society level for newsletters? If you feel that a newsletter should be nominated for an award, please contact me at Chronicler@northshield.org.

The information below was taken from https://www.sca.org/chronicler/

Master William Blackfox was the author and illustrator of the cartoon Warthaven. He gave generously of his time and talents, and was very supportive of the Kingdom Chroniclers until his untimely death. To honor his memory, the Office of the Society Chronicler sponsors the annual Master William Blackfox Awards to recognize excellence in the work of Chroniclers and newsletter contributors.

Nominations for the Blackfox Awards
The Kingdom Chroniclers make the initial nominations from the works in their Kingdom. All kingdoms are encouraged to participate and send in at least two nominations for each of the eight categories.

What efforts are recognized?

Best Overall Newsletter
Best Layout and Design
Best Artwork
Best Special Edition
Best Special Interest Newsletter
Best Regular Feature
Best Article
Best Poetry or Short Fiction

Also, we’re looking for gentles who have experience building websites to help build a new website for the Kingdom! The primary section of the site will be using WordPress, but complex sections may use other technologies. This is a project-based position (expected duration of less than one year) and is NOT a warranted office. Ideal candidates would have some experience not just using out-of-the-box WordPress plugins, but also modifying them with PHP, CSS, and MySQL. Time expected: ~10 hours per week for appx 9 months to 1 year. Applications are due by March 31.

Please send applications to Chronicler@Northshield.org
