September Missive

Greetings, Good Gentles,

The year seems to be passing quickly, and yet the pandemic still sits upon our threshold and we mourn the events that would have normally been happening. We encourage you to continue to reach out to one another and to those new to the SCA. The generosity that Northshield has shown in offering its knowledge and hospitality to newcomers online has been impressive. In other news, we recently put out a Kingdom Awards cheat sheet developed with newcomers in mind. It can be found in the files section of the Kingdom of Northshield Discussion Group. You can also get a copy from your group chatelaine, seneschal, or by contacting us directly at chatelaine@northshield.org. We encourage you to look it over to see if it inspires you to submit an award recommendation. Recognizing others helps us stay grounded in these times of isolation. Taking action to recognize those who have contributed to our Society is one of our greatest traditions. Finally, we encourage you to visit the SCA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office at https://www.sca.org/dei-office/ and review the tools found there. Utilizing the concepts found there will help our kingdom to continue to grow and develop as a more inclusive and welcoming place. Until we meet again, stay safe. It’s good to be Northshield.
