Greetings, kinsfolk,

In general, all is quiet with the Exchequer’s office. I want to make a couple quick points about PayPal pre-registration as we get a better handle on how it impacts events.

If your group is using PayPal for preregistration, please take the fees into consideration in the event budget. PayPal fees add up to about 3.8% for fees paid through that service. This is especially important for Kingdom and Known World level events, as 3.8% starts to add up quickly and can significantly impact event profits.

Another note about site fees and PayPal: groups MAY NOT charge different site fees for PayPal pre-registration. This is not allowed by PayPal. So, unfortunately, groups can’t charge more to help cover some of the fees. Groups CAN put out a donation jar at the Gate for anyone who wants to donate and help cover fees.
