Greetings from Beatrice Domenici della Campana, Northshield War Herald for Pennsic War XLVII.

Upon the fields of the Pennsic War did the people of Northshield gather at the request of King Yngvar and Queen Luce, undoubted Griffin King and Stellar Queen, and Their court was opened upon the 8th day of August, Anno Societatus LIII, being 2018 Gregorian.

The gathered populace was advised that the Closing Ceremonies of the War would be held immediately following the final battle of the War, and not at 2 of the clock as scheduled.

Freyja of House Ironwood was called forth, but was not present in Court.  Their Majesties then had called forth also Amundr Raudbjorn called Amadon, Hunter of House Ironwood, Hrothgar Grarulfr Gunnarsson, and Mickhail Auer.  Of those called forth, only the one called Amadon appeared before his Sovereigns, as the others of his House so called were said to be sleeping or otherwise occupied away from Court.

Their Majesties then invited those members of the Order of the Pyxis that were present at War, and added the five summoned members of House Ironwood to that Order, for their excellence in Norse dress and camp.  The one called Amadon was presented with all five scrolls, and charged to carry them to those members of his House who were not present to receive them.

Kagami Mori was called forward, and came forth with great diffidence, approaching his Sovereigns upon bended knees.  Her Majesty then spoke, and described a foul leaving which she discovered in her personal camp chair--it seems that a certain sweaty fighter had sat in Her chair and had left "a perfect sweaty butt-print" behind when he arose and left camp.  He did return and clean Her chair, but as his further penance, he was given the Toy Chest, and ran before the youth of the Kingdom.  Kagami Mori was caught, and the youth of the Kingdom claimed their prizes.

Aelina Aelinesdottir was called before Their Majesties.  His Majesty asked Aelina about her fiber arts, and some discussion (and confusion) ensued about just how many years "her adult life" entailed.  Having reached no conclusion other than the knowledge that her art was of quality and renown, the discussion of time ended, and Aelina was presented with the Award of the Black Flame.

Joharra was called forth, and further arts confusion was discussed, this time with His Majesty being not quite sure about her "lost wax casting" and other jewelry arts.  With still no conclusions reached, Joharra was also presented with the Award of the Black Flame, to many cheers from the populace and speechless tears on the part of the recipient.  Hearty Vivants were called forth for "Joharra the Overwhelmed".

Lars Wolfsblut was called forth, and His Majesty inquired about His Grace's *non* heavy-combat related activities.  When reassured that the activities in question were still combat related, His Grace ceased his attempts to hush His King and Liege, and answered that he had been active in thrown weapons for some many months.  He was presented with an Award of the Black Bolt, and within his wood-burned box of a scroll were three throwing knives.

Randall of Caer Anterth Mawr was called forth, but was not present in Court.  His Majesty spoke of the difficulties of wielding a spear one handed, and of the deeds of Randall in taking a blow to an arm and then taking out three foemen upon the bridge.  For this deed upon the battlefield of Pennsic, Randall would receive a Bravura--the armband was given to the one called Amadon to be taken back to camp.

Their Majesties thanked all present for attending War, for fighting upon the field, for supporting the combatants, for teaching classes, for volunteering, and for all their other contributions to Pennsic.  Each person present was given a coin by the hand of His or Her Majesty, in token of and payment for their deeds at War.

Those persons present for whom it was their first event or first Royal Court were called forth, and two gentles approached Their Majesties.  Though cups were not present at the time, Their Majesties promised that each would receive a cup from Their hands, and presented the newcomers to the assembled populace, exhorting Their people to welcome those new to us, and to fill those cups, once received, with wisdom, tales, and age- and site- appropriate beverages.

House Lac du Val invited all present to assist with slaying the Great Chili Beast, which Beast in past years had not been slain despite the great and glorious efforts of many gentles.

There being no further business, the Court of Yngvar and Luce, second of their names, was closed.  Cheers were exhorted and offered for Their Royal Highnesses, Vladimir and Petranella, for Their Royal Majesties, Yngvar and Luce, and for the Kingdom of Northshield.

Court was Heralded by Beatrice Domenici della Campana, with assistance from Pickles Drake of Lac du Val (formerly known as Ulfrunn Thunkarr).  Gwenhwyvar verch Owen ap Morgan stood as signet.
