| Born August 8 1042 in Chateau Les-Braults Maine, France, Philippe is the fist son of Hillarie LaRiviere - lord of Chateau Les-Braults. The Chateau and surrounding lands are located north of the city of Le Mans. Although Hillarie and his men has pledged fealty to the Duke of Normandy, the Count of Maine disputes ownership of these lands with Duke William and his regents. Philippe's father Hillarie fought beside William the Bastard at Val-es-Dunes in 1047. In an effort to unite all of Normandy under a single rule, William crushed those who still defied him. When the Duke of Normandy called upon the noble houses in 1065 to provide members to fight against Harold for the rightful crown of England, Hillarie was already too old, being well into his 60s by then. It was young Philippe who accompanied William in his fathers stead...... Philippe lead a group of 25 archers from Les-Braults during the invasion at Hastings... It is said Harold died by an arrow though the eye at Hastings... No one can tell for certain who knocked the fateful arrow......Philippe continues his travels abroad in hopes of someday returning home to take over lordship of his father’s lands. Until then, he must prove himself a worthy warrior in battle and win the approval of his father.
