I, Giovanni da Cavaso, am a prosperous northern Italian merchant operating the family shipping business out of Venice in 1470. I live in Cavaso with my wife Isabella, but have apartments in Venice as well.
I am a padrone to a few painters and illuminators/calligraphers. I am proud of my reading/writing abilities and hold a respectable library in Cavaso. I was educated at universities in Treviso and Padua.
Working in the family business I have traveled extensively to places like Constantinople, Messina, west and east Africa, Paris, Goa and throughout Italy in times of peace.
