June 2010 Northwatch Missive

Greetings unto all who read these words,

Primus. Very simple from me this month. It is time to start considering my successor. My term will be up in January around the time when we celebrate the 12th Night. As much as I love what I am doing, I want to give someone else the opportunity to have as much fun as I am having. I would like to have a successor decided by Fall Crown Tournament to give that person a chance to work with me for a couple of issues before taking over the position. If you are interested serving our Kingdom in this capacity, please send your resume to chronicler@northshield.org by the first of October. The Kingdom Chronicler is responsible for publishing the Northwatch, overseeing all official newsletters, and warranting and monitoring local chroniclers. The Chronicler also oversees the Kingdom Webminister and the Historian/Archivist.The position requires experience with desktop publishing software and reliable high-speed Internet access. Experience with image editing software is a plus. Adobe InDesign is the software currently being used for publication and the kingdom has the software for the PC (side-grade to Mac is available). The position could be split between two people, with one being the Chronicler and the other Editor of the Northwatch.

Secundus. The theme for this month was to be “Work”, and we really didn’t have much offered up on the theme. It will not stop me from naming the theme for the July issue to be “Service in the SCA.”Deadline for submissions for that issue will be June 1. Artwork, stories, research articles, puzzles, and anything else you think fits this theme are welcome!

Quod denique. June will very likely see me traveling to Mermaids and Border Skirmish and I hope to see many of you as I travel.

I remain, in service to the Northshield, our Society, and most of all, to the
populace~~
