August 2010 Northwatch Missive

Unto all the lands of Northshield do we,Hrodir and Ann, send greetings,

We would like to thank everyone for making this summer as fun as it has been. With lots of smiles and great events, it is easy to see why it is good to be Northshield.

So this is it, the BIG announcement. We have chosen  the Village of Orlova Dolina to host ourCoronation this September 11th and our Shire of Silfren Mere willhost our Crown Tournament on October 9th.

At our Coronation we will host three contests of skill. These will be Her Majesty’s ArmouredChampion, His Majesty’s Rapier Champion, and an A&S contest with the themeof the York during the time of the Viking invasion of Britain. For the latter, we encourage documentation and the ability to talk to us about your entry. There will be a comment sheet so you can receive feedback and will include two categories, Peer and non-Peer. We are very excited to see what everyone comes  up with.

Crown tourney will be a simple double-elimination using best of three fights to win eachround. Bring your best style. You do not need to match weapons. We ask that all shields be able to be straddled easily and be no wider than shoulder to palm.

Requirements for entry to our list is: one year of residence in the Kingdom of Northshield, an Award of Arms,  and a sustaining membership. Please include a copy of the photo IDs and membership cards for both combatant and consort with your Letter of Intent as well as a picture of the arms under which you will be fighting (8x11 please).
