The eclecticness of the SCA The eclecticness of the SCA

June 2011 Northwatch Missive

I send the hope that fair winds, soft showers, and sunlight have found your fields so that you and yours can be comfortable next winter-

Primus. I have had a couple of inquiries for the position of Chronicler but have not yet had time to sit with anyone to actually talk about what the future will hold for this position. Many things are changing on the Society level and I am willing to stick with this job for the Kingdom’s sake until I can find someone willing to take it on. Please contact me if you’re interested and we can set up a time to sit and talk about it.

Secundus. There has been a change to the Society Chronicler’s policies. Baronies must publish a newsletter on a regular basis, no less frequently than quarterly. Their newsletter can still be electronic but they do have to publish something. This is still optional on a Shire/College level. The rest of the changes in policy on that level are about the release forms.

Tertius. I am disappointed that so few chroniclers or webministers were able to make it to Officers’ Day in Caer Anterth Mawr in April.  I was prepared to discuss SCA Release Forms;
What is plagiarism?; and Information regarding electronic kingdom newsletters. If anyone has questions on any of these issues, please contact me or stop me at event and we can talk.

Quartus. Any group that publishes a newsletter of any kind, either paper or electronic, needs to remember to send a copy to the Kingdom Historian, Geirfold (address in the directory at the end of this issue) as well as the Kingdom Seneschal, Their Royal Majesties and myself. Baronies need to send it to all of these people plus Their Royal Hignesses and the Society Archivist.

Quod denique. June should find me traveling to Mermaid’s Retreat and Border Skirmish.
I remain, in service to Northshield, our Society, and most of all, to the populace~~
