Prima, I know this letter is a little late as I gain my bearings – I want to thank Master Jean-Robert for his time and awesome efforts and wish him a well-deserved respite.
Seconda, introduction – I am Piero di Salvestro Verrocchi il magnifico and, being brand new to this role, I look forward to serving our Kingdom and rapier community.
Terza – My immediate focuses are around getting back to the field safely, continuing work on inclusion in our community, and finishing the hard work of my predecessors to complete the updated handbooks. More to come in each of these areas.
Quarta – As we regain the field, I have had people contacting me around starting as Marshals-in-Training, transferring their warrants from other kingdoms, and re-authorizing for the field or marshallate after a long hiatus. Easy ones first. Your authorization is good for 7 years. Want to become a marshal? Notify your regional first and read the Marshal Administrations Handbook. For transferring authorizations or warrants from other kingdoms, as well as reactivating your warrant, please email me at krm@northshield.org with copies of your auths and we'll make a plan together.
Finale – Clean the swords, check your tips, drink water, and show grace to everyone and to yourself as well. Be sure to check in on those around you and help create a safe and inviting field for all.
