This is how my name is pronounced (as best I can research anyway).
(Orla eenyen Awd Dilmun)
Yes, I was formerly known as Nuala.
Born in 1290. My siblings called me Norman bastard but my Mother always said "The only way you'll see my arms around one of them is checking to be sure that my dagger is buried to the hilt in their vile flesh". So I am Ui Dhiolmhain by declaration of my Father and love of my kin. I was a second wife but am now a Widow. I have survived wars and famine.
In the time of my Father, Henry III ruled England and Brian O' Neill was proclaimed Ard Ri but shortly thereafter O'Neill lost his head to England. As a young girl, I heard tales of the English Bastard Edward who recruited our men to fight the Scots War. Then, before I wed came Robert the Bruce and his brother, Edward. As a young bride, I heard word of the death of Edward the Bruce at the hands of the English forces.
I watched the English overlords become as Irish as we are. They marry local girls, play our games, ride bareback, wear our clothing, and even speak our language.
There has been much want in my life, famine from 1316-1317, a cattle sickness in 1321,1324 and 1325, a pox and fever sickness in 1327 and 1328.
In 9th C. Viking Garb, I am Myrun in irska.
A thrall taken from Ireland as a child during a Viking raid.
No great sadness as my Father was going to marry me off to an Old Man of 28 years with 6 brats.
My Master is good to me and rarely beats me. I wear the collar but not the chains. I have learned a craft which brings him money and I am very good with his animals.
I am interested in textile arts, music, and jewelry making. My favorite colors are Sapphire & Emerald but I like other jewel tones (NO pink). Although my persona is 14th C Irish, my garb time travels from Greece to Renaissance Italy and I am currently planning an Egyptian outfit
My goal is to become better at patterning and tailoring and making a veil I can tolerate <lol> I do enjoy a good research project which is why I volunteered to be a Herald
