Join the Barony of Castel Rouge for a weekend of battle and heroism, of feasting and revelry.

Time & Place Labor Day Weekend Friday, August 31st - Monday, September 3rd, 2007 Ukrainian Park Camp, Gimli, Manitoba (a short one-hour drive north of Winnipeg)

Site opens Friday at 3:00 pm and closes on Monday at 10:00 am.

Troll will be be open Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 12 noon. If you are arriving outside of these hours, you must contact the event steward by August 28th to make arrangements.

This event is held at a private campground near Gimli, about a 1-hour drive north of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The site has heated cabins with bunks, modern washroom & shower facilities, pay phone, a spacious kitchen, a good-sized dining hall, large open field, wooded areas, and a small playground.

The cabins, washrooms, and showers are not wheelchair accessible.

Children's activities currently are not planned. The site has a small playground.

Site is discreetly damp. (Please take your empties with you when you leave.)

Merchants welcome; no fees, but please contact the head autocrat in advance. Bring your own blanket. Some tables may be available during the day.

Meals There will be a Brunch served on Saturday and Sunday, a formal Feast on Saturday evening, and an informal Dinner on Sunday evening.

No off-board seating in the dining hall during meals.

Fees All prices are given in Canadian dollars ($1 Canadian is about 90 cents U.S.)

Full Weekend: $65 -- Includes camping fees (cabin or tent) for 3 nights, brunch on Saturday & Sunday, feast on Saturday, and dinner on Sunday.

Partial Weekend: Sat. Feast: $15 Sun. Dinner: $5 Sat./Sun. Brunch: $5 per meal No site fees! Camping (Cabin or Tent): Contact the event steward for single-night fees. Children under 12 half price on meal fees; Children under 6 eat free.

Note that meals will not be served on Friday or Monday, as the site's kitchen will be unavailable on those days. A list of food vendors in Gimli will be available.

Weekend Package, Camping, and Meal reservations must be paid in full by August 20th. <<<

Everyone who stays on-site overnight must pay the camping fee, regardless of whether you're staying in a cabin, tent, vehicle, in an open field, or other location on-site. Sorry, we cannot allow any exceptions.

Please inform the feast steward of any allergies or dietary restrictions.

Payment must be made in Canadian dollars, by a cheque drawn on a Canadian bank or by International Money Order made out in Canadian dollars. Make cheques and money orders payable to "SCA Inc. -- Barony of Castel Rouge".

Cancellations & Refunds: If you want to cancel a reservation, please let the event steward know before the following dates:

Feast cancellation deadline: Friday, August 24th Cabin cancellation deadline: Monday, August 27th Reservations cancelled after these dates cannot be refunded.

Campground Rules Camping Fee: Everyone who stays on-site overnight must pay the camping fee, regardless of whether you're staying in a cabin, tent, vehicle, or other location within the campground boundaries. Sorry, we cannot allow any exceptions. Please note that the campground property extends to the edge of the woods along Hwy #222.

Pets are not allowed on the site. Working animals (e.g. guide dogs) are allowed.

Quiet Hours are between 12:00 midnight and 8:00 AM.

Campfires are only allowed in the fire pits. All campfires must be thoroughly extinguished before leaving your campsite. Never leave a campfire unattended. There may be restrictions on campfires from time to time due to dry forest conditions. Restriction signs will be posted.

Firewood is not provided. However, dead fall or dry kill may be gathered from the forest for your campfire. It is forbidden to cut down any trees or remove any wood from the park without the approval of the management. The use of chain saws is not permitted in the early morning, late evening and all day Sunday.
