I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season and has been enjoying the winter events. We have one kingdom winter event coming up: Kingdom Arts & Sciences Faire. There will be something for everyone that day. There will be display; come and show us what you have been working on. I guarantee you we want to see it, whether it is your first piece or something you’ve been working on for years. There will also be competition with new categories and new rubrics. There will also be a Queen’s Prize this year, focused on Experimental Archeology. What does that mean? That means show what you’ve learned by doing. Show your failures and what you learned from them. That means show how you proved or disproved something you’ve read or seen. Any of that is Experimental Archeology: Learning about past arts and sciences by doing.
Shortly after this kingdom faire is Gulf Wars. I hope to see many of you there. There are so many classes and battles. There is equestrian and hound coursing. I’ve been several times and still haven’t done it all. Everyone who is going is welcome to be part of opening ceremonies. Black and white and gold are the colors of the day (shocking, I know).
