The Honorable Lady Celestria de Clare hails from the late 16th century England. She is the daughter of a successful textile merchant. She fell in love with the city of Venice during her travels to Italy in search of the finest textiles and lace to bring back home to her father's clients.
While in Venice, she met and married a Venetian merchant and explorer named Cristoforo (also known as Chris). He told tales of his adventures along the silk road and sailing to the Far East with the Portuguese. Upon their marriage, he took her last name as the "de Clare" family name brings with it reputation and fame among traders and merchants. He is now known as Cristoforo de Clare (Chris).
Celestria also studies 16th century Northern Italian fencing, specifically Capo Ferro and Giganti. A skill in the "arte of defence" is important when transporting high valued wares back to England.
She enjoys astronomy, spinning yarn, weaving, experimenting with natural dyes, researching fashion, sewing, and Italian needle lace.
She has the honor of being a rapier provost to Maestra Margalit Medicus and a fiber arts student to Baroness Caoilfhionn inghen Cheallaigh uà Mhórdha.
